Don’t Think Too Hard: OOTD

Hello beautiful gals! Welcome back ❤

This week I wanted to wrap up some style inspo that is quick yet impactful. I always pick my outfit out the night before class or a big event. It saves SO much energy for the next day and relieves you of decision fatigue. The stress of trying to find an outfit under 5 minutes is so draining and honestly can turn your morning upside down if you’re already running late.

My OOTD is for allll my ladies who maybe aren’t ready to make a BOLD statement, yet are willing to be the center focus in a room. How is this possible? Easy… simple accessories take the cake and don’t strain the eyes.

Spring is approaching but the weather hasn’t called for skirts and bandeau’s just yet. Combat the shaky weather and wear a light, long sleeve shirt. That way when you take off your jacket, you’re not attacked with goosebumps but you’re also not dying of heat from a thick, long sleeve top.

This sheer, green top is from Wild Fable! Available at your local Target, how convenient is that! I recommend everyone see for themselves the simplicity of this brand. I got this top for $14 and I love pairing it with different necklaces each time. I think that’s the beauty of simple shirts too, the constant style change you can do everytime!

Whether ripped jeans are your style or not, they definitely add versatility to an outfit. From here it takes my OOTD for casual to chic. These jeans are high waisted which went perfectly with my short-torso top. For a day out, I don’t want to expose my stomach; high waisted jeans are essential for your closet!  I also decided to pair my jeans with light brown boots. Any boots would go but it balanced the dark, green top I had going on.

My staple of choice for an impactful outfit is the fanny pack. Is that the correct term or does it still sound corny? Oh well! I didn’t need a belt or an extravagant garment to tie the look together, in fact I made my life easier this week by adding all my essential tools like my phone directly to my waist line!

The confidence this brought to my walk knowing I had something special tied with my outfit made me go from casual to CHIC BAD-ASS. This fanny pack from Michael Kors was on sale and I had to snag it when I saw the leopard print design. This bold accessory matches with solid colors like my green top from Wild Fable. Which makes it that easier to style your outfits the night before.

Although you can’t see it, I’m wearing a wireless unlined bra from Victoria’s Secret which changed my life for the better. The jump from wired to wireless bras improved my flexibility throughout the day and changed how tops fit over me. A wireless bra gives my top a smooth finish on the sides without any bra bulges… No, I’m not afraid to admit it! The straps crossing over extentuate my collar bones and tie into that “I tried really hard but didn’t” look to my outfit with some more complexity.

Last but not least, my top gave a lot of room to add a chest piece. I wanted to keep the chest exposed and add a silver choker to not distract from my gold fanny pack. Thin chokers play up your outfit in a small but lasting way. I got mine from Forever 21 for $6!

How did you like my simple OOTD? Save yourself the stress of complex tops and transfrom a simple top to an effortless glam. No, you don’t have to splurge on Michael Kors to get a fanny pack. Check out Wild Fable from Target or Forever 21 at your local mall. I think fanny packs are going to make a comeback for their easy, accessible features in cute designs.. you heard it here first folks!

Tell me your simple OOTD of the week!

Much love from Virginia ❤ Thank you so much for reading and believing in me!

Victoria’s Secret Swim Wear Launch

Omg it’s almost April?! Almost Summer? Most importantly, almost bikini season?

I’ve been doing a lot of work building up to this Summer season…meaning the gym and some extra water with lemon. These upcoming months are going to be life changing for me, and I know 2019 has some rewards for you too.

It felt like forever waiting for Victoria’s Secret (VS) to drop their swimsuit line. But I totally understand the point of making us wait closer towards the warmer times of the year.

They released the exciting news on March 18th with several pictures and of course, a video on the beach.

I didn’t hear much about it on social which kind of worried me so I thought I’d check them out myself. Ready for my dissapointments? Ready for my favorites? Let’s jump in.

Let me add, there were over 300 options to choose from on the VS site which made me wonder how much originality could go into the line without becoming overdone. They also announced MORE swimsuits will be added as time goes on.

I think my first dissapointment gave me that impression. The ruffles go too far down for my liking and I like to lengthen my turso as much as possible when wearing a one piece; this would hide the illusion I’m trying to create at the beach.

The bottom is cute and dainty which could’ve made the swimsuit if it wasn’t for the top. Having the straps all the way towards the ends of the collarbone gives me a bigger chest than I want. Not in the boob-size way, but broader shoulder way..which is not my style.

IMG_9511

I saw this and I instantly thought of PINK! Not Victoria’s Secret. Which gave me the idea that PINK should create their own swimsuit line too since they already want to appeal to a different demographic of women. Do you agree? When I think of VS, I think of sexy and sophisticated.

IMG_9513

My eyes are straining right now! The clash of polka dots and strings of black and white across the chest are too much. This could easily take away the focus of yourself which isn’t what you want. I want something that complements me, not overtakes me.

Geez, what was with me and one pieces today? Like I said, I need the focus to be me and there’s just too much going on color-wise, it’s distracting. The straps going up her shoulders are too thick, along with the strings falling over. I don’t get the vibe of swimsuit, more like bodysuit!

Woohoo! On to my favorites.

No doubt I love the color pink. And now it’s paired with purple as a triangle top. The bottom wasn’t what I expected either! I love the look of strings opposite of the band, it gives it that oomph I’ve been waiting for.

Okay a one piece suit I finally like! The chest is elegantly exposed and the collar bones appear heightened which is exactly what I want. The light pink flower design is soft and graceful which is a good keep in your closet.

I saw a preview of this suit and was stunned by its simplicity and touch of strings right above the waist. It also came in a bunch of colors but of course purple was my go-to. This could potentially be a really cute suit IF the strings don’t get loose around the waist and droop down..

I want creative designs but I also want simple designs. Reason being because the more simple it is, the more accessories I can add to play it up each time. Additionally, each time can be a different style centered around pink as opposed to a pattern that must be followed each wear! Get me?

To make my waist appear smaller, dainty pieces are the way to go. Not only for shape but your tan will look way better when you take your swimsuit off. The cut framing her chest is really modern now; in the past the cuts used to cover more. The color combo is also gorgeous, it reminds me of fresh spring!

Lastly! A piece to add for my ladies traveling around the world. This is an elegant and conservative swimsuit to travel to places you’re not sure of yet. Not just for the fear of the unknown, but some cultures see two pieces as innappropriate and highly offensive. It’s important while traveling to adjust yourself to their society because you’re in their country now and that’s your way of offering respect. This piece is a great way to fit in but also stand out when it comes to design with the green leaves draping down the side.

Overall, VS offers great simplicity with triangle tops and dainty one pieces. I’d like to see some more creativity with the straps on the tops and more diverse bottoms. I also want to say THANK YOU VS for not only selling thong bottoms. It seems like such a trend to show your whole ass in a bikini and I’m not sure if that’s my style yet…anyone else on board with me?

That’s it! So what did you think? Is it worth checking out yourself on VS.com?

Comment below your favorite and dissapointment!
