Only a couple days away until the new year! Thankfully when the holidays treat you well, you slide into the new year eager for a new mindset. Maybe for a new goal or continuing tradition that completes your peace.
This upcoming year, my resolution is to wake up earlier than I did in 2018. This will take LOTS of discipline and maybe some tears, but it’s honestly for the best.
I have the worst habit of sleeping in and just not being able to get up from bed. It’s very upsetting and mentally exhausting. There could be a lot of theories as to why this is happening and how it’s affected me, but I’m ready for the change. It’s crazy how a year will pass by of just fatigue. I don’t want to think about the time I’ve wasted on sleep…..
Waking up around noon is not the life I want anymore! Lately I’ve been watching YouTube videos on how to wake up earlier and the one thing they can’t stress enough is YOU NEED TO HAVE A PURPOSE FOR GETTING UP.
Something needs to excite you enough to get up like coffee, the gym or even the morning news. You need the intention!
My reason would definitely be the gym. I made such a commitment to my physical health this year, knowing I can mold it into my 2019 goal gives me a lot more motivation to get it done!
Hopefully if this was your New Years resolution too, you feel less alone and developed a new strategy to do this.
My more intimate resolution was to become more involved in my church. More involved in my spirituality and relationship with the Lord. That’s for a later post though 🙂
I’m off to New York tomorrow to celebrate the new year and I didn’t want to leave without this wishful thinking.
What’s your new year resolution? Have you thought about your strategy?
